baby boy's blankie

this is something i had started out doing a long time back .....but never got around to finishing it....i m not sure why...the granny square scarf i did actually reminded me of this :)
i have 9 squares done, i sewed them together today...i am not sure where i am going with this though

here's a picture..

crocheted granny square scarf

last Thursday i was stuck in traffic and was getting reallyyyyy bored.... I decided to take the mall exit and go to the mall instead of sitting in traffic :) I am so glad i did :):) i went to Micheal's and bought 2 new yarns and a set of crochet needles :):):) and then i found this amazing FREE pattern of a granny square wrap :):):):)
i was sooooo excited to start making it...i drove like a maniac got home and started make it :)
making the squares was super easy ...joining was a bit of a challenge i think because the instructions were not as clear..after a few wrong attempts i finally got it right.

the pattern calls for 48 squares, 4 rows of 12 squares each. but i think i am going to make 3 rows of 12 each ...i want to be able to wear it like a scarf and not use it like a wrap.

i am absolutely in love with the yarns i bought they are super soft and easy to use the prettiest colors :)

crocheted fun wavy afghan

this one is just soooo much fun !! its simple and very colorful !! i am really happy with the colors i choose they look cute against each other :) the pattern really calls for 3 colors but i choose 2 very dark colors so i have to choose another light color to balance it off

here's how i started ....i think i started off with 200 stitches ...

and here is the close up picture...

update 4/6/2010:
here's how much i have so far ...

I have finished i think about 1/8 of it....this is going to take longer than i thought it would...because the stitches are single crochet and 4 rows will only grow the afghan by about an inch :(

knitted cell phone sock

i started this project to use up some scrap yarn and to revive my knitting skills....i learn to knit about 15 yrs ago and wasn't sure if i still remembered how to do it...
turns out u can never forget how to ride a bike, or swim(proven otherwise by a dear friend ;) hehe) or knit!
I dint really follow a pattern or anything....just started out with Casting on 25 sts and then K 1 row and P1 row....changed the color for fun :)

its been a while

i posted anything ....but heres a quick post to keep this space alive

this weekend the weather was amazing and we, for the first time since we moved here,....took a walk by the lake which is right in front of our house.

it was the most romantic setting .....the serene lake, the sun setting ....his hand to hold and the swans just made me soooo happy !

i wanted to feed them for some reason

crocheted eye-glass case

This weekend I indulged in a little retail therapy, among the excess of stuff I bought, were my new aviators. I love them, I cannot get over them! It was cloudy this morning and I still wore them …..I felt like I am driving to the office in the evening :p
I decide to use the same technique as in the streamer crochet baby blanket…to make this case..

first the abbr -
mc - main color
cc - contrast color
ch - chain
dc - double crochet
sc - single crochet
sl - slip stitch
sp - space
So here s the pattern – (i used mr. angel's glasses for measurements)
1. mc - Chain 31 foundation chains
2. mc - dc in the 5th stitch from the last stitch, *skip 1 ch and dc in the next stitch*, finish with a dc in the last stitch, leave the mc on do not fasten off.

3. cc1 - starting on the opposite side, join the color with slip stitch and ch 1, *then sc in the sp between 2 dc s in the first row* finish with a sl in the last stitch. Fasten off.

4. mc – ch 4 and turn, *dc on top off the dc of the previous mc row* finish with a dc, in the last dc of the previous mc row.

5. Repeat with cc2, cc3, … till the piece measures about ?? inches. Ensure it’s a perfect square.
6. Fold in half, and then sew it in with a blanket stitch in the mc. Turn inside out and voila!
7. you can pass a lace through the holes to make a draw string pouch.

I will post the picture of the completed case asap
